Abstract

|
A case of erythrocytosis associated with Wilms' tumor was presented, and reported
with review of literatures. Wilms' tumor was diagnosed with the finding of well defined
round mass on lower pole of the left kidney by the abdominal ultrasonography, CT
scans and renal arteriography and confirmed by kidney biopsy. The preoperative
hemoglobin and hematocrit were 24.3 g/dl and 72% respectively, but they were
decreased to 12.2 g/dl and 36% respectively at 2 months after nephrectomy. The report
believed to be the first patient with erythrocytosis associated with Wilms' tumor in
Korea.
